With its roots in motorsport, clothing and apparel company No Fear chose to expand their footwear offerings by venturing into the racing boot category in the late 1990s. Featuring fire-proof Nomex for its upper construction along with styling and materials borrowed from the athletic footwear world, the boots had a significant impact on the category. While the No Fear racing boots never sold in large quantities due to production volume constraints, other manufacturers were quick to take notice and revamp their offerings with fresh, athletic shoe-inspired models that are still prevalent in today’s market.
